I spend a lot of time thinking about the various costumes and uniforms of employees and patrons at the Jersey Shore. This cocktail dress explores an intersection between the classic 80s windbreaker, which takes over the boardwalk at night, and the tattered flowing pirate uniforms of amusement park, and mini golf course employees. The drop shoulders flanked with a contrasting floral ruffle, and high fitted collar reference the lightweight classic jacket, and pair surprisingly with an exaggerated elastic cuff, ruffled and ruched skirt, and fraying floor length neck ties which scream "pirate". This dress is insane and absurd.
